History of Floods: This book, Twic East Dinka of Jonglei State, South Sudan: Five Years of Floods (2020–2025), compiled by Nile Valley Marketplace, LLC, is dedicated to the victims of the five consecutive years of devastating floods. Nile Valley Marketplace, LLC has taken this opportunity to document one of the most significant flood disasters in the Twic East area in the twenty-first century. This book stands as a memorial for the present generation and for the countless generations yet to come. No one knows whether floods of this magnitude will ever occur again—or whether they will return if durable, long-term solutions to seasonal swamp overflows are not found. This work preserves the memory, suffering, resilience, and lessons of these years so they are never forgotten. Now for many years of 2020-2025, the citizens are starting coming back to their ancestors’ land. Some are voluntarily doing it and others are being help by their leaders of the community in resettlement processes.
